Scandalous claim at private hospital: "The mother gave birth without a doctor, the intervention came from a visiting doctor."

N.Ş., a 32-year-old woman living in Ankara , was invited to Private Koru Hospital, where she had previously agreed on a birth plan, when she entered her 35th week of pregnancy. N.Ş.'s delivery began in her room. Allegedly, despite N.Ş. repeatedly stating that she was in labor and requesting assistance for approximately an hour and a half, she gave birth in pain, without any medical intervention. After giving birth in the room, the intervention of an anesthesiologist working at another hospital, who was fortunately present at the hospital, saved the lives of both mother and baby. Following birth, the baby was taken to intensive care and received extensive treatment.
"LIVING INTERVENTION CAME FROM A VISITING DOCTOR"Lawyer Kadir Cem Temtek, speaking to an İHA reporter, emphasized that the mother was invited to the hospital on suspicion of a potential childbirth. He said, "Despite stating that she was in labor and requesting medical assistance for an hour or an hour and a half, she gave birth on her own, in pain and bleeding, without any medical intervention. There are camera recordings and witnesses to this. An anesthesiologist from another hospital, who was visiting the same hospital during the birth, intervened to save the mother and child's lives. The visiting doctor placed the baby in an incubator, and an anesthesiologist from another hospital brought the baby to intensive care, effectively saving the mother and baby's lives."
"Doctors told us that this is the natural way of giving birth, in a way that denied medical science."Temtek, noting that the family, mother, and child experienced an anachronistic event at a time when they needed the most protection, said, "We applied to the hospital and expressed our grievances. The doctors there told us that this was, and should be, a natural birth, in a manner that denies medical practice. They also told us that they would not only not pay the cost of the birth during the two-month period, but also that they could collect the cost of intensive care for the baby who remained in intensive care. We watched this with sadness. We have applied to both judicial and administrative authorities regarding the matter."
"I had a birth like those of women giving birth in caves"Temtek, who stated that they hadn't received any feedback regarding why the doctor hadn't attended the birth, said, "It was stated that this wasn't right, but after some time, it was confirmed that this was natural and not a strange situation. It was an involuntary defense mechanism, but it wasn't fair. They waited for a doctor there for an hour and a half, but no doctor intervened. The birth was like women giving birth in caves thousands of years ago. The health of both mother and child was disregarded."
"People were informed about this hospital by advertising that there was a doctor on duty 24 hours a day."Lawyer Temtek, noting that the newborn baby had been in intensive care for a long time, said, "The mother's physical health is good, but both mother and father experienced a psychological crisis; they didn't experience any normal events. People who had been admitted to private hospitals for hundreds of thousands of lira gave birth as if they were in a cave room. Unfortunately, this birth was defended by doctors. They were subjected to undeserved treatment, and they were exhausted. They were generally in good health, but they were deeply affected psychologically. There were some premature births, but the hospital admissions were already anticipated. Advertisements were made that the hospital had a 24-hour on-call doctor, informing people about the hospital . People went to this hospital based on this trust, but when the baby was born, we couldn't see the on-call doctor, obstetrician-gynecologist, or intensive care specialist depicted in those advertisements." The press department of Private Koru Hospital, contacted regarding the matter, announced that a statement would be issued shortly regarding the allegations.
